The location is fantastic and it has a New York vibe to it (not luxury, but authentic.) Felt like a dorm room, which I was from.
The bed is atrocious, you can feel the springs. The second night, I asked for an additional comforter and folded over the top comforter (sleeping bag style) and with 2 additional layers underneath, it was quite comfortable. Change out the beds and this would be a great place to stay!

The staff is good and helpful. They greeted me every time I passed by. Called the room and checked if everything was okay.
There is a roof/patio that is good to relax.
The room is small, so are other rooms in NYC hotels.

happy hour, bathroom is clean
windows are drafty and don't keep out sound. the carpet is dingy, the hallways are dingy and dark, and scary frankly. the rooms are just loud because they're close to the street and there is traffic/honking/people all the time. however the walls of the rooms are also thin, music/tv next door came though.

1. Broken bed and worn-out mattress, not fixed after I told front desk. Felt like I was rolling out of bed all night because of the uneven frame, and mattress had huge sunken area on one side.
2. Very slow drains in sink and shower
3. Poor TV picture quality (snowy, grainy) for analog channels (they can't get decent picture for CNN? Really?)

Note to evaluation authors: The My feel-good factor multiple choice is poorly constructed. This hotel is suitable... is the lowest ranking option, but I don't feel this hotel is suitable at all (even for one night).
