A city that has seen a rise in business and tourist visitors year on year means that to be sure of a room in the city centre on your chosen dates will need some advance planning. With trade fairs and exhibitions regularly taking place, the town has earned a reputation as an excellent choice for business. Taken into account that over 20% of the city's population are students in one of the five internationally renowned universities, it is no wonder that the city has a unique atmosphere that is filled with a young feel and high quality of life, with bars, restaurants, and clubs all filled to the brim most nights.

Location: Three hours west of Warsaw

Poland's capital, Warsaw, is 300 kilometres east of Poznań along the A2 motorway, but many travellers arrive via the airport, which was Poland's first, just 7 kilometres west of the city centre. Busses to the city are cheap and take around 15 minutes from the airport, whilst taxi prices are best discussed before you start your journey. Poznań has a direct rail link with Berlin to the west and takes around three hours.

Business: One of Europe's finest expo and conference cities

Trade fairs are a regular part of city life in Poznań, and it has excellent facilities to cater for its business travellers. The PCC (Poznań Congress Center), to name just one, has over 70 separate conference rooms and pavilions for up to 16 exhibitions. It can cater for small business meetings to events that attract over 11,000 visitors at a time, in a location that has excellent access to the city.

Culture: One of Poland’s oldest cities

The old town is a place to go to see some beautiful buildings. It reveals the city's culture and history as you walk along the Royal-Imperial Route. The 20th Century Zamek or Imperial Castle, was constructed with significant input from the German Emperor at the time, William II, and it has been in use as government offices for both Germany until the end of World War 2 and Poland to the present day.

Activities: Take a trip to the lake

Lake Malta is an artificially created lake formed in 1952. There is plenty to do in and around the lake at all times of the year, and it has been used to host World Championship rowing and canoeing events. On the lakeshores, you can try your hand at skiing on the artificial ski slope and even ice-skating in the height of summer on the year-round ice rink. More relaxed options can involve a walk through the zoological garden or a trip on the park's own narrow gauge railway.
