1856 the old pass road, which passed directly under the castle, was shifted and the large bridge was built. This bridge is till in use today. The old road, however, is now used by wanderers only. The hotel castle Fernsteinsee attained special meaning due to king's Ludwig II. from Bavaria preferences and frequent visits.
