Located in Western Central Africa along the Equator, Gabon borders on the Republic of the Congo in the south and east, on Cameroon in the north and on Equatorial Guinea in the northwest. Gabon can be separated into three distinctly different geographical regions. From the flat Atlantic Ocean coast in the west, to the mountainous Central Highlands in the middle, and the Jungle Interior in the east: Gabon and its beautiful natural landscapes and wildlife are well worth a visit.
Thanks to its comparatively small population, as well as mineral and oil reserves, Gabon has become one of the wealthier African countries and is safe to travel. Its capital city is Libreville along the Atlantic coast. The main highlights of Gabon, however, are the many natural attractions. If you wish to watch forest elephants, buffalo and antelope in the Banteke Plateau National Park, discover the 100 km long stretch of virgin beaches in the Loango National Park with its surfing hippos, or explore the misty forests of the Crystal Mountains National Park: Be sure to book your hotel with HRS and profit from the best rates available.
