The two islands nation of Sao Tomé and Príncipe is situated in the equatorial Atlantic off the northwest coast of Gabon. Sao Tomé is both the capital city and one of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe. It is by far the nation's largest town, as well. Africa's second smallest country is economically based on plantation agriculture, with cocoa as the main crop on São Tomé, responsible for 95% of its exports.
