Positive: When the breakfast staff realised I was on a vegan diet, they went out and bought soya milk in especially for me.
Negative: There was no tea-making facility in the bedroom, but this was easily overcome, as the bar staff were very kind and were willing to give me boiling water and cups to take up to our room on several occasions.
Positive: Extremely helpful staff in arranging necessary help at a moment's notice. We look forward to staying there again in the future.
Positive: Excellent location a few minutes away from Prague castle and the metro station Malostranska. Not in the area surrounded by gift shops near the Old Town Square. Hotel is small with only 38 rooms but had a nice charm about itself. Rooms are split between two buildings (the suites across road from the main building, which is virutally traffic free). Most staff very friendly in the bar, breakfast room and some reception staff (see below for a few exceptions). Overall with the rate I managed to get thanks to HRS, truly exceptional value for money.
Negative: Some rather stiff, bordering on impolite, reception staff. The check-in was quite rude since we arrived before 14h00 (for the earliest check-in). While given a form to complete and taken to the bar, we were simply forgotten about by staff who seemed annoyed we were there too early. Our luggage was also left in front of the reception desk rather than stored. Even when returning after 14h00 to complete the check-in process, the luggage was still exposed at front of the desk, very unprofessional and for a hotel with such a reputation you would expect better. Cleanliness of the room was average, it seemed any dist behind doors, chairs, bed, etc. was simply forgotten about. We are not talking about a day or two build-up but at least one week worth. It seemed the reputation of the Hoffmeister has led to some arrogance in some quarters, which does slightly spoil the experience somewhat.
