Positive: Hotel Klara is not a traditional hotel. It is a number of apartments which have been made available for overnight and longer-term guests. Modern day hotel amenities are not available. The proprietor, a young woman, appears to manage all affairs for the hotel by herself, including breakfast preparation (which was very good), room make-up, clerical affairs, etc. Our room was bright, airy, nicely appointed and very comfortable. The location is very convenient, just 4 streetcar stops from old Prague attractions. The quality of the room for a tourist who just needs a place to sleep and clean up is exceptional for the cost. I give it 3 stars in spite of its lack of typical hotel amenities. It was just too comfortable and clean to only rate it 2 stars.
Negative: Parking is a minor issue if you are driving. Spaces around the hotel are available only to residents of that district. We had to park in a lot a number of blocks away in a not-too-savory part of town. But the lot was attended by a questionable gent who charged a reasonable fee. I was not entirely comfortable leaving our rental there but no harm occurred.
Positive: Total freedom; like one's own apartment in a block. Very efficient and smiling help - Erika.
Negative: Erika not being fluent in English, city and locality related information could not be gathered. But with advance homework, this is not really a problem.
