Positive: Good situation, convenient to Metro. Staff very friendly and helpful. There's obviously been a lot of modernisation and re-decoration since I last stayed at this hotel 3 years ago.
Negative: Although fans were provided in each room it really does need air conditioning when there is a heat wave (which seems to happen every summer when I visit Prague!). My TV didn't work but this was repaired very quickly. Some of the windows are rather dilapidated and the chambermaids never seem to leave the windows open (even on the 5th floor) when the temperature is in the 90s.
Positive: I felt easy and at home in this hotel. Personnel is friendly in a natural way, without fake smiles. Overall the hotel makes a pleasanty clean impression, bed matrasses are of good quality. The location, 600 meters from the touristic Wenzeslas Square (Vaclavske Nam.) and 500 meters south-south-east of the National Museum, is ideal for me. Just walk a bit in north-east direction and the quiet green parks, where one no longer stumbles over the many tourists, are within reach.
The hotel serves a good breakfast and the adjacent building holds a good restaurant.
From the airport public bus (119) brought me to the metro station Dejvicka, then the Metro (line A) to Namesti Miru and some 250 meters on foot I reached the hotel within approx. 1 hour, at a cost of CZK 26.00 (about Eur 1.00).
The Lunik hotel once more? Yes!
Negative: If I had a XXL body size the shower cabin (flexible curtain on 2 sides) might have been too small for comfort.
