positiv: Personnel willing to help to any problem I had.
negativ: Shower not isolated from the rest of the bathroom, which inevitable spreaded water throughout the whole bathroom.
positiv: This hotel was clean, the toilet and shower - although very small - were quite newly renovated with good quality plumbing and the water was hot and plentiful. The bed was comfortable. Location was good - it is only a 3 minute walk to Gare du Nord and close to Montmarte etc. - as advertised. It's only about a 10-15 minute walk from Gare L'Est also. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made an effort to assist with questions on public transport, local area etc. They were helpful even though I did not speak French. I felt quite safe staying here as a solo woman traveller. The small lounge/bar area in the hotel reception was a good place to meet other travellers in the evenings and have a cup of tea/coffee or a drink.
negativ: I don't have anything really negative to say - the following comments are the only criticisms I could make in what was really a very good, clean, safe and value for money place to stay. The stairwells etc. were not as well renovated as the rooms, but this didn't really matter. The soundproofing between rooms was not great. I was out a lot and got home quite late to sleep so this wasn't a big deal in summer. However, in winter or if you were planning more time in the room or staying for a week+ the noise issue may be more of a problem (depending on who your neighbours were!). The croissants at breakfast were a bit lack lustre. I went out for breakfast instead of pay 6.50 for a mediocre breakfast.
negativ: plastic cover under bedsheet very uncomfortable
