Directions to hotel
From Essen Main Station take the underground U 11, U 17 or U 18 to Berliner Platz. Take exit Ostfeldstrasse. After the SIXT rent a car Station gas station on the left turn right into Frohnhauser Strasse. The hotel is on the right hand side.
A40 -> exit Essen-Zentrum -> first opportunity turn right into Hindenburgstrasse -> follow the street 01 kilometer -> turn left at shopping center Limbecker Platz -> the hotel is on the right hand side

negativ: Holiday Inn Customer Care? Not at all!
Due to the winter conditions and a heavy ice rain in Frankfurt my flight was cancelled.
I called the Hotel, at 14:00 on the day of my planned arrival to inform them and to try to find an solution about the booking for that one night.
I had booked 3 nights, a night at 180€ no breakfast included.
The hotel reception did not at all care about the issue and told me that I had to pay 90% of the night. However they promised that upon arrival I could speak to the manager in order to solve the issue.
Upon Arrival I asked at the reception to speak to the responsible which was harshly declined. The answers and tone of the reception was absolutely inadequate. The reception explained : these are “the rules” of the Hotel and that they would also account for me. No concession, no comprehension, no nothing.
A truly disappointing experience and absolutely inadequate for a Holiday Inn experience at 180€ a night.
