Positive: Alster Hof is my favorite hotel in Hamburg.
Good location, good breakfast and in most cases a rather spacious room at a reasonable price.
Negative: I am sorry but I feel the room was small and not cozy this time.
Negative: Internet Access in the lobby is very slow. In the rooms is very expensive. Most hotels give their guests the SERVICE of free internet access.
Positive: Although this hotel should be 3 stars for the factor of the facilities, I think that the kind staffs and the atmosphere deserve much better. It was a very comfortable stay.
Negative: The only con for this hotel is that rooms in the back can be quite loud, particularly if a festival is going on at the lake. That said, city noise doesn't really bother me and I would stay here again.
