positiv: I was pleasantly surprise with the quality of the room as the approach to the hotel from across the bridge did not look promising. Staff were friendly and cooperative. The reception area was inviting and cosy. The facilities were basic but adequate for my stay - quiet room; clean comfortable bed; clean bathroom and towels; flat screen TV, and no extra frills. It was good value for money. I will stay there again on my next visit to Trier.
negativ: As mentioned above the exterior appearance from the bridge could turn people away from this pleasant hotel. Perhaps the paintwork and area close to the river could be cleaned up a bit more. The breakfast dining area could be freshen up. I know in this present economic state there is little spare money to renovate however by a simple change of tablecloth covering - the present pink is rather dated - and the use of separate table mats for each setting could make a big difference.
