Positive: Everyone - from the hotel owner to the night-security man, and not forgetting the kitchen/cleaning ladies - was extremely pleasant and helpful, as is unfortunately seldom found these days in our home country Germany. Even our special request for a particularly well-located room to mark a special round birthday was fulfilled at no extra cost.
Negative: The wash-basins in the bathroom area (open plan) were super-modern, but too small, slightly too high even for someone of 1:86 metres and the water did not flow away as fast as it should and made irritating gurgling noises as it slowly sank down the plughole. Perhaps a side-effect of a modern renovation of an old property. Otherwise the alterations were indeed very successful with lots of fantasy and a clever combination of old and new.
