The village is safe and accessible by a 2 minute walk and located within walking distance is the Fish market where all the fisherman bring their catch of the day. Several natural depressions which fill up with the tides also serve as sanctuaries to the endangered Green Turtle species as they have their breeding grounds on the beaches of Nungwi. Traditional village craft activities such as hair weaving and application of attractive henna tattoos and traditional Arabic designs on hands and legs can be tried out.
