Positive: Initially, the welcome was a bit cool. I heard someone behind the desk comment those crazy Americans. I was a bit put off after a 13 hour flight from LAX. However, once I was rested, I felt much more at ease and welcome. Eventually, I got the hang of things and it all became very friendly and accommodating. The bed was a bit hard for me and the way of doing things quite different, but I loved the overall experience and will definitely visit the Hotel whenever I return to Istanbul, which I plan to do often.
Negative: There could have been more hangers in the closet. I had to wear the hotel slippers into the shower as the slip mat was too scuzzy to stand on with bare feet. I did not want to catch athletes foot..
Also, I was charged 50TL more than what was stated on the confirmed cost for the stay. Nothing was charged to the room and when I asked they could not understand well enough (even though I tried many ways) what I was getting at or trying to say. I was a bit frustrated with the entire ordeal and that was really the most disappointing part of the trip. The bed was a bit too hard.
