positiv: The Chef is excellent.
positiv: Room was upgraded
positiv: The room was amazing, the staff were all lovely and it was very quiet which we were hoping for!
negativ: The leisure suite was very dissappointing - compared to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
positiv: Excellent Staff members, everybody I dealt with was brilliant. The food was amazing and the breakfeast choice is out of this world
negativ: No Water in the rooms? very strange and the gym is to small but otherwise very nice
negativ: i have stayed on a couple of previous occasions but this time i was given a room that didnt have an 'auto locking' door. I only noticed the small information shhet telling me this on my last day meaning i had left my room unlocked for the majority of my stay. This information MUST be passed on when checking in.
positiv: were happy to accommodate my request to move from a single room to a double room
positiv: very freindly
negativ: TV in the room didn't work and is VERY old fashioned
positiv: Room excellent, general atmosphere of hotel very good indeed. Staff, food, facilities all spot on
negativ: None
negativ: Room can be cold as the hating doesnt come on until 4pm - but you can ask for a heater.
Tea/coffee facilities are often inconsistent with number of people in the room. I stayed with my kids and they had 1 sachet of hot chocolate between them and 2 mugs. I did ask several times for this to be rectified & in the end I went out and bought them a jar of hot chocolate
On occassions the shampoo/ soap stuff in the bathroom has been missing and in general whatyou get is inconsistent so I never know what to pack!
positiv: well positioned
negativ: bar prices
negativ: Hotel only half full, no atmosphere
Television has limited choice and very poor reception
Price rise this year to £91 from £71 last. Hotel now overpriced compared with other local ones
negativ: The TV service is rubbish. Only the basic terrestrial 5 are available and the TVs are old with poor pictures - the remote control was held together with tape.
negativ: Room very hot, unable to control radiator
positiv: Lovely hotel. Lovely atmosphere. Would stay again.
negativ: Colleagues had much smaller rooms than me on same cost. Would want to be assured of same large room on my next stay.
positiv: Most rooms are a little dated but are always clean and well proportioned
negativ: Television quality, reception and available channels are very poor in all rooms, not up to 4 star standards
positiv: The Churchill Suite was lovely - I would stay there again!
negativ: Breakfast wasn't as good as on previous visits, hopefully just a glitch as I've been satisfied on previous stays.
positiv: Good sports / pool facilities
Very good breakfast
good sized room
Good / accurate checkin & checkout service
negativ: Poor TV reception, improved slighty when engineer was sent to fix it
Quality of evening meal variable
No free wifi, it costs £15 per 24 hours, I feel this is very expensive.
positiv: When you know how many other top class hotels there are in the area and I still chose to stay at the Fairfield out of preference it says it all
positiv: Having stayed at various hotels in Ayr this is by far the best
positiv: The breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was to die for.
positiv: This was an enjoyable nights stay. I was made to feel welcome in the restaraunt for both dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent, I can recommend the Haggis for a starter
negativ: A small point but I would have preferred a better TV in the room. Others may prefer on demand movies particularly for a winter stay
positiv: Excellent hotel with huge, well furnished room. Restaurant food very good.
negativ: none
