Positive: The hotel staff were helpful and although they coulddo nothing when I reported the faults as maintenance were not there, they fixed the light and basin the following day. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment so when that is complete I imagine the old rooms such as mine, will be given a much needed face lift.
Negative: The bedside light bulb was broken so the room quite dark. The basin was next to the bed with the bedside table in front of it. It was also blocked when I arrived. The room was quite tired and in need of redecorating.
Negative: Rooms are badly in need of an upgrade. Bathroom was dreadful.
Positive: THE ONLY THING NICE ABOUT THIS JOINT WAS THE BREAKFAST EVEN THOUGH THE STAFF VIRTUALLY WERE SITTING ON YOUR LAP WHILE WE WERE EATING NOT,COMFORTABLE AT ALL
Negative: DIDNT LIKE HEARING OTHER PEOPLES TOILET BEING FLUSHED FROM THE ROOM ABOVE US AS IT WOULD THEN CAUSE OUR BASIN TO GURGLE WHICH CONSEQUENTLY KEPT US AWAKE.
WE WERE PUT IN A ROOM THAT HAD A GENERATOR RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR ROOM WHICH ALSO KEPT US AWAKE AT TIME WHEM WE WANTED TO SLEEP.
ATTITUDE OF SOME OF THE STAFF HAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED FOR NO SMILES ALL GLUM AS IF SOMEONE HAS JUST TOLD THEM THAT THAT A FAMILY MEMBER HAD DIED.
WE COULDNT EVEN SWING A CAT IN THE ROOM IF WE WANTED TO AS SEEING MY WIFE AND I ARENT ON THE SMALL SIZE WE FELT LIKE WE STRUGGLED TO WALK AROUND THE BED AS WE KEPT EITHER HITTING THE WALL OR THE BED.
OVERALL WE THOUGHT THAT THE SCORE FOR THIS HOTEL OUT OF A POSSIBLE 100 WE FELT THAT IT WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATED 20 OUT OF 100.VERY DISMAL WE WOULD NEVER HAVE STAYED THERE HAD WE KNOWN WHAT THESE REALLY DID LOOK LIKE, FALSE ADVERTISING WOULD BE HIGH ON THE AGENDA HERE.
MY WIFE AND I WILL/WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY AT THIS DUMP.
Negative: The TV was small and could only receive SIX (6) over-the-air channels. I was in London, England and could not watch an English Premier League football match unless I went to the hotel bar (which only had ONE TV). Also, the room was very small, even by European standard.
Positive: Close to many restaurants in Bayswater
Negative: I had two evening meals in the attractive terrace restaurant. The meals looked presentable but on the second meal I got food poisoning.
Positive: Very nice room and facilities, better than expected.
Negative: Continental breakfast was not the best. The first few days the bread was not fresh, and only one type of jam was available. It improved later inn our stay. £ 4 extra for full english breakfast, should have been an option when we booked.
Positive: Very friendly and helpful staff.
Negative: Some building work is being carried out at present.
Positive: Centrally located and, for London, reasonable value for money.
Negative: The TV in my room didn't work properly. The continental breakfast was unappetising for a 3* hotel, stale looking croissants, watery coffee. There were also repair works on my floor which started at 8.30am, and about which I was not given any notice. If I had, I would have asked to change my room. I was also assured that they would not be continuing on the Saturday when I was staying... but they did!
Positive: good position
Negative: room size, facilities- not adequate
Positive: Impressive reception area. Very helpful and cheerful/friendly staff. Very convenient location. Despite awarding 3 stars we were very pleased with our stay and hope to return.
Negative: Bathroom a little worn. broken and loose tiles on floor. Shower control fell off.
Positive: It was my fifth stay at that hotel and I would go there again and again!
Positive: The bar/lounge is airconditioned. There was no break down of the lift during my six days stay unlike in the past.
Negative: There was no internet facility in my room. Pay TV facility was not available in my room. There was no facility for safe keeping of valuable objects such as laptop computers.
Positive: We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the room was! The bathroom was large as well. Also, the hotel is centrally located. Definitely, a great deal for the price! We will stay at Blakemore on our next London visit!
Positive: concierge is very helpful, but ask for detailed information.
Negative: rooms are very old and very loud even we asked for a quiet room
Negative: The single rooms are ridiculously small ranging from 6 to 8m2 (I saw 3 of them). The breakfast which is included in the room price is very limited: coffee, toast and jam. If you want to eat the stuff which is offered in the same dining room (eggs, bacon, sausages, yogurt) you have to pay extra. So you feel like the staff is observing you and making sure that you are not taking the “good stuff” from the table standing nearby when you didn’t pay for it.
Positive: pleasant international atmosphere
Negative: inside needs a serious renovation: the old rooms and its bathrooms are not in a good condition. they also need better health foods for breakfast. they eg put yoghurt with the more expensive "english" breakfast, not with the "continental" buffet.
Positive: Some reception staff is very friendly and supportive
Negative: Some reception staff is not at all friendly and/or supportive
Positive: Very good value for money.
Positive: This is probably as good as it can get for that price (special rate: GBP 39) in a vibrant and central area of London - although the actual rooms are not as posh as one might think after entering the lobby.
Negative: The concierge is grumpy and doesn't seem to really like his job: not looking at someone and cleaning the desk with his fingernails while more or less answering an inquiry is unacceptable.
Positive: The wash basin should be installed inside the rest room
