This is Rough Luxe. Half rough, half luxury. A little bit of luxury in a rough part of London. A little bit of rough in a luxurious London. Our philosophy is simple: you are staying with us in our home, so just ask us for anything you need . Our Grade II listed home was transformed in 2008 by internationally acclaimed designer Rabih Hage. Guests at the Rough Luxe hotel might occupy a small room, but the luxury is in the choice of the wine, the bed linen, the art on the walls and the people looking after you. Just 6 amazing rooms, all with a sumptuous en-suite bathroom, some with an adjoining sitting room. Whichever one you get, each delivers the finest hand-made toiletries and all contain artworks that are changed on a regular basis. All our rooms have free WiFi access. Each room has a different character and design with some beautiful artworks on the walls and boutique interior elements perfectly living together to make your stay special.

Special features of the hotel

The Hotel is a Grade II listed building and so our conversion could not include step-free access, although there is wheelchair access (over cobbles) to the Coffee Bar Courtyard outside. We have a small spa area and can arrange visits from Reflexologists and Beauticians, Trainers Personal Shoppers and Stylists.

We are just across the road from the mainline King's Cross train station, and 1 minutes walk from St. Pancras train station, home to the Eurostar service. It's easy to find us using London's bus and Underground network and if you take a London Taxi, ask the driver for 'the old Number One Hotel in Birkenhead Street.
