They wanted the freedom to express themselves, and the Vienna Secession was the only way they saw to do this. The Vienna Secession Hall, or Wiener Secessionsgebäude, was built to further and house their art style, and you can still find this fascinating building in Vienna today. Otto Wagner is probably one of the most famous Austrian architects, and there are two museums in Vienna that are dedicated to his amazing designs. They are quite interesting and well worth a visit. The Hofburg Palace is a beautiful building. You can tour it during the day from 9am to 5:30pm. If you enjoy exploring old churches, then head on over to St. Stephen's Cathedral. This imposing structure dates from the mid-1200s and is an excellent example of Gothic Roman design. At the end of the day, you can retire to your Vienna Secession hotel and rest comfortably.
