Jardin du Luxembourg, also known as Luxembourg Gardens, is without a doubt one of the well known parks in Paris. It is the second largest public park in the city of Paris and is located in the 6th arrondissement, near the Sorbonne University. This beautiful garden was officially opened to the public in the 19th century and has since then seen large numbers of people flocking there. The garden is surrounded with amazing sculptures, fountains and right in the heart of the park is a pond known as the Grand Bassin. You can always step out of your Jardin du Luxembourg hotel and go for an evening stroll at the park.
You better brace yourself for an enticing holiday, as there are so many attractions and activities going on near the famous Jardin du Luxembourg. The impressive St. Sulpice Church is just a few metres away and has to be in your list of must visit. Re-visit the Middle Age era by taking a tour around the exquisite Musée de Cluny which boasts a huge collection of medieval art. The museum has sculptures from as late as the 7th and 8th centuries. The Charles de Gaulle International Airport is about 30 kilometers north of the city of Paris. The Paris underground system is quite comprehensive and relatively easy to understand. You can take the RER Line B from the airport to the city centre without any difficulties. Once you're within the city, you will find out that Paris has an excellent and extensive Metro system that will take you virtually anywhere you want to go. You could also cycle or walk casually to your Jardin du Luxembourg hotel.
