Ydalir Hotel is a gift from the family Smedvig to the University of Stavanger. Peder Smedvig established his first shipping company in 1915 and from then on the familys private equity has been well invested. In 2015, Smedvig celebrated its 100th anniversary by giving a gift to the region, which coincides with the familys mission statements for gifts and sponsorships. Smedvig wishes to prioritize gifts and sponsorship funds specifically aimed towards children and youth. The mission is to stimulate both increased education and knowledge through its funds directly or indirectly, in order to benefit the region in a long-term perspective. Therefore, Ydalir Hotels profit will each year be donated to the University of Stavanger and ensuring long-term economic benefits as well as cultivating educational possibilities across faculties - Every stay with us will benefit the university Ydalir Hotel is a hotel with a one of a kind vision and this gift of a hotel contains luxurious rooms, friendly staff and all you could expect from a hotel accommodation.
