Snug Harbor has been a hidden gem in Mitchell Bay in San Juan Island since the early 60s. The resort has been a preferred location of outdoor enthusiasts for decades. Fishing and crabbing in the immediate area has always been fantastic easily reached from the protected harbor of Mitchell bay. In 2011 Erik and Tamara Nelson acquired the resort and developed a plan to completely revitalize Snug Harbor. By 2018 all of the previous structures built over the last 50 years have been replaced with 20 one- and two-bedroom cabins and suites as well as a new office and store. In 2012 Snug Harbor opened Mitchell Bay Coffee and in 2014 Snug Harbor became able to offer exquisite space for weddings conferences and other gatherings. Full renovation of Snug Harbor marina and docks was completed in early 2019.
