Wasserkuppe 46, 36129 Gersfeld
The Hotel Peterchens Mondfahrt is located on the Wasserkuppe, at 950 metres the highest mountain in Hesse and the Rhön. The Rhön biosphere reserve is located in the border triangle of Hesse, Bavaria and Thuringia and thus in the middle of Germany, a good 100 kilometres northeast of Frankfurt am Main and 30 km east of Fulda. The hotel-restaurant is surrounded by the varied low mountain landscape, also known as the Land of Open Distances. The summer toboggan runs, ski slopes, Germany's highest airfield, paragliding and model flight launch sites, the world's largest gliding museum and the summit with its distinctive Radom radar dome are all within easy walking distance. Other sights in the vicinity are the Rote Moor, the Kreuzberg, the Milseburg and Fulda.
