1000 year of history. Schloss Kapfenstein lies amidst the Styrian spa country far to the southeast of Styria, close to the Slovenian and Hungarian border. In an extinct volcanic cone built, defying the Wehrburg from the 11th century countless attacks by the Huns, Turks and Kuruc. 1065 Schloss Kapfenstein was first documented. Over time, the fort experienced a checkered history, connected with the sounding name of their owner. First there were the Caphensteiner, then the Walseer, Weisseneggern, Lengheim and Piebetz. 1898 Finally, the property was transferred with his lands to family Winkler-Hermaden. Today Schloss Kapfenstein invites romantic gourmets for living, a culinary experience, to rest but also to celebrate.
