The Kingfisher is a riverside pub & hotel on the River Great Ouse in Bedford. Formerly the Barns Hotel, it reopened as The Kingfisher in 2022 after a full refurbishment. There are 49 bedrooms, and downstairs the pub and restaurant open out onto a riverside garden and The Jetty. The kitchen sources as locally as it can and food is served from breakfast through to dinner, with afternoon tea and a proper Sunday roast. Dogs are welcome in selected rooms, and WiFi and parking are free for all guests.

The Jetty is The Kingfisher’s own spot on the river, where guests can eat and drink right by the water. In the colder months it’s kitted out with heaters and blankets for seasonal dining.
