The guest rooms within historic monastery walls are modern but simply furnished, with clean lines, in conjunction with contemporary technology and comfort (deliberately without TV).
Built by the brothers Asam in the years 1716-1739 under the then abbot Maurus Bächl (1713-1743) and designed abbey church is one of the top achievements of European Baroque. In 1803 Weltenburg fell victim to secularization and was dissolved. However, it was rebuilt in 1842 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria as a priory and settled by monks from Metten. Weltenburg has been an abbey since 1913. Please note, that our reception is only available until 6 pm to check-in.
