From I‑78 via Holland Tunnel, follow signs to Downtown Manhattan, then take Varick St. north to W 23rd St. Turn right onto Lexington Ave; the hotel is at 23 Lexington Ave on the left. From FDR Drive, exit at E 23rd St, head west to Lexington Ave, and turn left; the hotel is on the left.
From JFK: Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, transfer to the E subway to 23 St, then walk 5 min to Lexington Ave & 23 St. From LGA: Take the M60 bus to 125 St, transfer to the 6 subway to 23 St. From Penn Station: Take the 1 or C/E subway to 23 St or walk ~15 min to the hotel at 23 Lexington Ave.

Roman & Williams designed interior, featuring custom artwork by Bard college artists. The property has plenty of bar's and restaurants to choose from as the Freehand features the Gabriel Stulman led Simon & Whale Restaurant, George Washington Bar, and Studio Restaurant and Bar. We also have our notorious Broken Shaker bar coming to our rooftop this April. Smile to go Café will also be opening in mid-March, offering a fast casual outlet for our guests. The Freehand's common space also includes our Game Room which has a retro pin-ball and pacman machine as well as endless board game options. There is a 24 hour fitness center on site, featuring 2 peloton bikes, 5 treadmills, a cable machine, free weights and more! Room delivery is offered from 6am till 12am.
