First on this list is the Bitburg County Museum, which houses all the information you need on the history of the region. The second is the Bitburg Archaeological Footsteps, which gives you a tour of a 2,000-year-old Roman fortress. Another must-see is the Dudeldorf castle. An 18th-century manor house, it has two wings and a three-story tower. Concerts and exhibits are held in the castle theater, and the gardens are open to tourists in the summer months. A small cafe is also open on Sundays. Finally, do not leave Bitburg until you sample the famous Bitburg Pils beer. Guided tours of the brewery are available by appointment.
