Forio - Busy Resort Town

Compared to surrounding towns, the historical center of Forio is actually really well preserved. Traces of medieval and Baroque architecture and heritage are peppered throughout the city streets. Il Torrione is a tower built in 1480. With two floors, it used to hold a rainwater tank, weapons storage area, and a terrace with cannons. After renovations, it actually became part municipal museum and part home to the artist Giovanni Maltese. It has now been turned into an art gallery dedicated to his works.
