Graal-Müritz - The little town with a large welcome
This small town on the Baltic coast has a 5-kilometre stretch of soft, golden, sandy beaches open for use by all. There are sections that accommodate dog walkers, for instance, which many public beaches stop in the summer months. There are family-friendly beaches and an area reserved for nude sunbathers and skinny dippers, which has a tradition in the area dating back to the early years of the 1900's. It is only since the 1980's that the town has had a resurgence in its popularity as a seaside vacation town. The local authorities have embarked on a series of restructuring and tourist growth that is now paying benefits, with the town being declared one of the prettiest Baltic coastal resorts.
Location: Natural beauty and stunning scenery
The town waits for your arrival amongst the whispering forests and open heathlands for which the Baltic Coast is famous. It has a good rail link to the nearby city of Rostock, which is just 30 minutes away, and is the site of the nearest airport. The town is easily reached by car by following either the A19 or A20 to Rostock and following the signs onward.

Culture: Sit, touch, and play on the 'Great Art'
In 2012, a series of nine artistic sculptures were installed along the main promenade. These were commissioned to encourage children, locals, and visitors, to learn about the local flora and fauna that is found within the region. Unlike most artworks, everyone is actively encouraged to touch, sit, and even climb around these giant-sized interpretations of nature.
Activities: Enjoy the fresh, clean air and relax
The pier, which opened in 1993, is your point to explore the Baltic Sea. From the end of the 350 metres long structure, you can board the cruiser MV Baltica, which will take you on a pleasurable guided tour of the coastline. If a splash of colour is needed, visit the park in the middle of the town and marvel at the 6 metres high rhododendrons. There are over 60 varieties for you to identify amongst the 3,000 plants. The park is also a place to watch the live open-air concerts that are held throughout the summer months, so grab a blanket, sit down, and enjoy the music before watching the firework displays over the pier. The Aquadrom is a place for everyone to have fun. You can relax and enjoy a sauna and massage, get sporty and try the indoor tennis courts and fitness centre, or have a great time splashing around in the salt water streams and pools with the whole family.
