          Starnberg - Reflect on Bavarian history by the lakes

          Starnberg was recently named as the wealthiest city in Germany, in terms of disposable income. Visitors to the city will not be surprised. This is a clean, organised, and beautiful Bavarian retreat, with an idyllic lakeside aspect. Just 35 km from the city of Munich, it is a world away from the hustle and bustle of downtown the Bavarian capital city, and one of the most popular suburban areas in Bavaria. Starnberg earned a place in German history when King Ludwig II of Bavaria drowned under suspicious circumstances in Lake Starnberg on 13 June, 1886.
