Improving hygiene services in public areas, guest and meeting rooms

The HRS Clean & Safe Protocol covers a range of measures to help ensure hygiene excellence is maintained at hotels

  1. Physical Distancing
    Physical distancing throughout the establishment according to local regulations
  2. Staff Training
    Revised training programs for employees, suppliers and contractors
  3. High Touch Areas
    Frequent cleaning of public areas and high touch areas (e.g. door handles)
  4. Sanitization & PPE
    Sanitization stations and protection equipment available for staff and guests
  5. Technical Equipment
    Regular control of technical equipment (i.e. air conditioning, dishwashers, laundry machines etc.)
  6. Food & Beverage
    Contactless food services, available take away options and disinfected cutlery and servers

Two levels of Assurance

The HRS Clean & Safe Protocol provides two levels of assurance for travelers, Self Inspected and Expert Inspected.

Self Inspected label
  • Hotels conducted the HRS Clean & Safe Protocol Self Assessment 
  • Compliance to 50+ mandatory measures to ensure clean and safe hotel operations
  • Continuously monitored and updated checklists 
Expert Inspected label
  • 3rd Party audit: Virtual Inspection by SGS or another trustworthy organization specialized in verification and inspection
  • Clearly differentiated symbol proving audited excellence
  • Provide an extra level or reassurance to your corporate travelers

Cleaner & Safer Procurement and Booking

The HRS Clean & Safe labels will be displayed across all HRS booking and procurement channels. 

Both labels will be represented on corporate online booking engines (OBEs) such as KDS and SAP Concur.
Both labels will be displayed in all HRS procurement channels, marking an important selection criteria during RFPs.
