Zaragoza is Spain’s fourth largest economy and a centre for several large corporations. The German automobile manufacturer Opel has a factory here, as well as the Spanish companies CEF and Balay. The city was the host of the Expo 2008, a world fair on water and sustainable development, and it is well-equipped to hold large conferences in its many venues.
Culture: Home to festivals and several popular landmarks
Here, you will find a wealth of cultural attractions, festivals, museums, parks, and monuments to witness. The Basilica del Pilar is one of the city’s most popular landmarks, as well as the Aljafería Palace and the La Seo Cathedral, two buildings of a larger UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Mudéjar Architecture of Aragon. Many festivals that take place here, including the annual Fiestas del Pilar, a nine-day festival occurring every October.

There is some great shopping to take part in, and the city is known for its excellent gastronomy, which includes many tapas bars.
