Located in the Saastal, otherwise known as the Saas Valley, Saas-Fee is centrally located and easy to reach from all directions. This small town of 1,659 people welcomes a huge influx of tourists every year, due to its snow-peak activities and prime location in the Swiss Alps surrounded by thirteen gigantic mountains, which lends the area the nickname of the “four-thousand” mountains, due to their extreme elevation of over 4,000 meters. The nearest airport is Sion, although most international visitors will arrive in nearby Zurich or Geneva, where you can either catch the train to Saas-Fee or a connecting flight to Sion.

The town boasts very little unemployment, and most of its economy relies on tourism. Over half the town work in either hotels or restaurants, with high fluctuations, depending on the seasons.
