The capital city of Lebanon, located north of Israel in the Middle East, is on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The country’s largest city is served by all modes of transportation; however, it is easiest and safest to arrive by air via Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport. From there, it is easy to rent a car or hire a taxi to take you into the city center.
The service-based economy is supported by many sectors, mainly banking and tourism. As the capital city, it is the centerpiece of the country’s economy and the headquarters for many of Lebanon’s banks and stock exchange. The Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Centre is the main site for conferences, exhibitions, conferences, and events in the area.

The rich culture goes back thousands of years and has been influenced by everyone from the Greeks to Romans and Arabs. There are a number of sights to see during your visit.
