Famous as the so-called ‘City of Blades’ because of its long tradition of making swords, knives and scissors, Solingen is a historic city of medieval architecture. Today, it is well-connected to motorways and railways, linking the city to neighbouring towns and the rest of Europe. For air travel, Düsseldorf and the Cologne/Bonn Airports are the nearest, both accessible by train from Solingen. In addition to a well-developed transport system, the city offers many modern amenities, making it easy to find a suitable hotel in Solingen.
One of the main sights that you can show to clients or see on your own is the 12th century Schloss Burg.
