          Accra – Ghana's Largest City

          During the 17th century this city had many forts built by various countries such as Portugal, Sweden, and France. The 19th century saw it finally become an important growing town after the British gained control. It soon became an important port, and after the railway was built through the rest of the country, it became possible to export cocoa.           Accra breaks its economy down into three sectors, though there are many industries contained within them.
